If they do sign Roy I hope it's not for too long a term. Rakell looks phenomenal in the prospects scrimmage. They're going to need to find a spot for him. Maybe Peter Holland's?

Rakell, kerdiles and holland really stood out today. But of course we hoped holland would just because he's years older than everyone there

This is the year Holland has to prove he can stick with the club and contribute to the level that he is capable. If he doesn't do it this year, the club will move on from him.

Agreed. He should have blossomed by now to be honest. He needs to make the team out of camp, or he is basically done. Rakell might be making Holland expendable by the sounds of it. Which is great for Anaheim, as Holland + maybe a 1st rounder might be able to net a decent defenseman.

"Ottawa’s 2014 first-round draft pick could turn out to be a good one. The Sens finished seventh last season and they will be without the teams' heart and soul in Alfredsson for the first time in 17 seasons."

Not that I don't believe the trade is fair, on the contrary; but don't over-value that 1st round pick next year! We finished 7th last year and yes we had Alfie but Spezza, Karlsson, Anderson, Michalek & Cowen barely played because of injuries! So I think with only the substraction of Silfverberg & Alfie but the addition of healthy Spezza, Karlsson, Anderson, Michalek & Cowen PLUS McCarthur and especially Bobby Ryan, Not only we'll make the playoffs but mostly likely finish higher then last year as well! But still, it remains a 1st round pick, just don't expect it being top 15 or better...
